Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026.

Scope

This privacy policy describes how Aldridge Counsel ("the firm", "we", "us") collects, uses, and safeguards information through this website (aldridgecounsel.com) and in the course of providing legal services. It does not modify any engagement letter or fee agreement between the firm and a client, which controls the privileged attorney-client relationship.

Information we collect

Through the website, we collect only what visitors voluntarily submit through the contact form (name, email address, matter type, and the content of the message). We also collect basic server log data (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and operational purposes. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or social media pixels on this site.

In the course of representing clients, the firm necessarily receives confidential information, financial records, and personal data. That information is handled under the rules of professional conduct and the engagement letter, not this policy.

Attorney-client privilege and confidentiality

Information you submit through the contact form, before an engagement letter has been signed, is not protected by attorney-client privilege. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the form until the firm has confirmed a conflict check and an engagement is in place. Once a representation has begun, all client communications and work product are treated as confidential and privileged to the fullest extent permitted by Massachusetts and New York law.

How we use information

Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your inquiry and to evaluate potential conflicts before opening a matter. Server log data is used for security monitoring and to maintain the site. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Retention

Inquiry data not resulting in an engagement is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted, except where a longer period is required by law or by the firm's conflict-tracking obligations. Client files are retained per the firm's records retention policy and applicable rules of professional conduct, typically for at least seven years following the closing of the matter.

Security

The website is served over TLS. Email and document exchanges with clients use industry-standard transport encryption. For matters involving particularly sensitive information, the firm uses a secure document-sharing platform; please ask your attorney for access.

Your rights

Massachusetts and New York residents have certain rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information the firm holds about them, subject to the firm's professional obligations. To exercise these rights, write to the address below.
